On Thursday, August 15, ERT World will broadcast the commemoration of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, offering viewers around the globe an opportunity to witness one of the most significant religious celebrations in Greece. Beginning at 08:00 (Athens Time), the Polyarchieratic Divine Liturgy and the Procession of the Holy Icon of Megalochari will be aired live from the Church of Megalochari on the island of Tinos.
This event draws thousands of pilgrims to Tinos every year with the Holy Icon of Megalochari being at the heart of this celebration. The broadcast will allow viewers, regardless of their location, to participate in the reverence and devotion that marks this day.
