Τι απ’ όσα «ξέρουμε» για την Ελληνική Ιστορία είναι πράγματι αλήθεια και τι είναι μύθος που επαναλαμβάνεται μέχρι να γίνει βεβαιότητα; Στα δύο νέα επεισόδια των «Ιστορικών Περιπάτων», που θα μεταδοθούν στη Φωνή της Ελλάδας, το Σάββατο 17 Ιανουαρίου και το Σάββατο 24 Ιανουαρίου 2026, στις 13:00 ώρα Ελλάδας, θα κάνουμε ένα ανατρεπτικό ταξίδι στον χρόνο και θα δούμε με άλλο μάτι γεγονότα που θεωρούμε δεδομένα, αλλά στην πραγματικότητα είτε δεν συνέβησαν ποτέ είτε δεν συνέβησαν έτσι όπως τα έχουμε μάθει.
Καλεσμένος της Μαριλένας Κατσίμη στην εκπομπή είναι ο ιστορικός και συγγραφέας Σταύρος Παναγιωτίδης, με αφορμή τα δύο βιβλία του:

Από την αρχαιότητα μέχρι και σήμερα, οι μύθοι καλά κρατούν. Ο συγγραφέας επιστρέφει σε γνωστές «βεβαιότητες», σε φράσεις και ιστορίες που όλοι έχουμε ακούσει, και τις ξαναδιαβάζει με τεκμήρια, ψυχραιμία και αφηγηματικό ρυθμό — γι’ αυτό και οι δύο τόμοι συζητήθηκαν ευρέως και έγιναν best seller.
Με τον Σταύρο Παναγιωτίδη θα μιλήσουμε για τον Καιάδα, το Κρυφό Σχολειό και τον χορό του Ζαλόγγου· θα φτάσουμε μέχρι το «Βυθίσατε το Χόρα» και τα «ντολμαδάκια της Μαρίκας», και σε πολλές ακόμη μικρές αφηγήσεις που κρύβουν μεγάλες παρεξηγήσεις. Θα εστιάσουμε στο πώς γεννιούνται οι μύθοι, γιατί επιμένουν, τι εξυπηρετούν, αλλά και γιατί κάποιες «ωραίες ιστορίες» αντέχουν περισσότερο από τα ίδια τα γεγονότα.

Myths, Misconceptions, and Uncomfortable Truths in Greek History: historian and author Stavros Panagiotidis on “Historical Walks” with Marilena Katsimi

How much of what we believe we know about Greek history is actually true—and how much is myth, repeated so often that it hardens into certainty? In the new episodes of “Historical Walks“ on Voice of Greece, we embark on a thought-provoking journey through time, revisiting familiar historical narratives and looking at them anew. Events long taken for granted are re-examined, revealing that some never happened at all—or did not happen in the way we were taught.

In conversation with Stavros Panagiotidis, we explore the myths of the Kaiadas, the Secret School, and the Dance of Zalongo, before moving on to later episodes such as the ‘Sink the Hora’ moment of the 1970s and the legendary “Marika’s dolmades.” phrase. Along the way, we uncover how seemingly minor stories can conceal major historical misunderstandings.
The discussion focuses on how myths are created, why they persist, what purposes they serve, and why certain “good stories” often prove more resilient than historical fact itself.
