O Δημήτρης Αλευρομάγειρος, αντιστράτηγος ε.α. και Επίτιμος Γενικός Επιθεωρητής Στρατού, είναι καλεσμένος της Σταυρούλας Καραλή στην εκπομπή «Τα Πρόσωπα της Εβδομάδας», που μεταδίδεται την Τετάρτη 22 Ιουλίου 2026, στις 22.00 ώρα Ελλάδας, στη Φωνή της Ελλάδας.
Πενήντα δύο χρόνια μετά την τουρκική εισβολή στην Κύπρο, η εκπομπή παρουσιάζει το πρώτο μέρος μιας ιστορικής συνέντευξης με τον κ. Αλευρομάγειρο, ο οποίος πολέμησε στην Κύπρο το 1974 και έζησε από κοντά τα γεγονότα που σημάδεψαν τον Ελληνισμό και διχοτόμησαν την Κύπρο.
Στο πρώτο μέρος της συνέντευξης, η συζήτηση εστιάζει δέκα χρόνια πριν από την εισβολή, φωτίζοντας το πολιτικό, στρατιωτικό και διεθνές περιβάλλον που διαμόρφωσε τις εξελίξεις και οδήγησε στην κυπριακή τραγωδία.
Ο κ. Αλευρομάγειρος αναλύει τις ελληνοτουρκικές σχέσεις της εποχής, την κατάσταση στην Κύπρο, τις προειδοποιήσεις που αγνοήθηκαν, τις κρίσιμες αποφάσεις που ελήφθησαν, αλλά και τα γεγονότα που προετοίμασαν το έδαφος για την τουρκική εισβολή τον Ιούλιο του 1974.
Πρόκειται για μια ιστορική αναδρομή, βασισμένη στις γνώσεις και στις εμπειρίες ενός ανθρώπου που υπηρέτησε τις Ένοπλες Δυνάμεις και έζησε από κοντά μία από τις πιο κρίσιμες και τραγικές περιόδους της σύγχρονης ελληνικής Ιστορίας.

Cyprus 1974: The Road to the Turkish Invasion

Lieutenant General (ret.) Dimitris Alevromageiros, Honorary Inspector General of the Hellenic Army, is the featured guest on “Remarkable Personalities” with Stavroula Karali on Voice of Greece, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 22:00 Athens time.
Fifty-two years after the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, the program presents Part One of a landmark interview with Alevromageiros, who fought in Cyprus in 1974 and witnessed firsthand the events that left a lasting mark on Hellenism and led to the division of the island.
The first part of the interview turns its attention to the decade preceding the invasion, examining the political, military, and international circumstances that shaped developments and ultimately led to the Cyprus tragedy.
Alevromageiros discusses Greek-Turkish relations during that period, the situation in Cyprus, the warnings that went unheeded, the critical decisions that were made, and the chain of events that paved the way for the Turkish invasion in July 1974.
The interview offers a compelling historical perspective, drawing on the knowledge and firsthand experience of a man who served in the Hellenic Armed Forces and lived through one of the most critical and tragic chapters of modern Greek history.
